iSAGE Hosts Groundbreaking Robotics Competition to Bridge Industry and Vocational Education

Release time:2025-06-13

In 29th, June, 2025, a competition led by teachers and students was held in Shanghai Minhang Vocational and Technical College.

In this competition is themed as “Moon”, named 2025 National Vocational College Aircraft Intelligent Manufacturing and Application Invitational Tournament. This Tournament is mainly held by China Astronautical Association and the China Vocational Education Society, origanized by Shanghai Minhang Vocational and Technical College. It is of great honor to announce that Shanghai SAGE Intelligent Technology Company (shorten as iSAGE) serves as “technical support company”, providing full software and hardware equipment support and technical services for this national competition.

In this Tournament, nearly 30 teams of teachers ans students signed up and participant this competition. Through completing the construction and environmental modeling of the logistic scenes on lunar scenes, the design and implementation of action plans and operation and AI dispatchingand pressure promoting work content, this tournament tested students’ ability of project planning, environmental modeling, progress design, positioning and navigation of the robot, intelligent transferring, management of safe operation, implemention and design of the solution and equipment operation and maintenance. And this tournament also testes students' qualities such as quality, cost awareness and professional ethics norms were examined. Through this competition, iSAGE, as the designated sole technical support unit, aims to cultivate international multi-skilled artisans.

"This competition marks a breakthrough in the field of vocational education for robotics," said Hui, Head of the Vocational Education Division at iSAGE. "The goal of this event is to bring real-world robotics products, born out of genuine industry needs, into the hands of students through a competition format. This enables them to directly understand how the robots they may work with in the future actually operate."

iSAGE provided its intelligent swarm-control robots as the official equipment for the competition. These robots are not only part of iSAGE’s dedicated educational toolkit but also mature, real-world products currently deployed on actual production lines. They represent a true reflection of SAGE’s intelligent mobile robot lineup and are modular units designed for rapid transport of small items in extremely constrained environments.

In this competition, SAGE simulated realistic scenarios involving material handling and inspection in complex settings. The event was designed to evaluate students’ abilities to quickly assess and build scenes, as well as to dispatch mobile robots across different maps — all critical skills for commissioning and troubleshooting mobile robots in diverse real-world environments. Ultimately, the competition aims to train a new generation of outstanding engineers for the mobile robotics industry.

"I’ve learned so much from this competition. There’s still a lot I need to improve, but I believe I’ll achieve better results next year," one student participant remarked.

The competition is set to scale up in 2026, with expanded challenges and broader participation. We sincerely invite students and educators to take on next year’s challenge — and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
